for W4W

Why not get your walking shoes on and walk with us on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Get your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, church members, or
anyone else to join you for a walk. It is a great way to spend quality time
with special people in your life...and you have the satisfaction of knowing
you're helping others in your community who are finding it difficult to keep
their fuel bills paid.
Contact the participating Walk For Warmth
agency of your choice for further information. A
W4W Pledge Sheet
can be downloaded so that you can start right away in getting persons to pledge
a donation. Remember that the money you raise will help to keep families warm
this winter.

There are a number of ways that you or your group can help to raise money for
Walk For Warmth other than being a walker. Here are just a few.
Cook Offs...what a great way for individuals to
show-off their best recipes. Consider a chili cook off or best cookie recipe.
Gather individuals to participate by providing the food items to be judged,
promote the event to the rest of the people at work, school or church. Charge a
nominal fee ($5.00) to those who will taste and judge!
Craft Sales...for all of those crafty people
who are just looking for a place to showcase their talent! Consider holding a
craft sale and donating the proceeds to the Walk for Warmth.
Penny Collection...here’s an idea for the
little ones...decorate a plastic jar or box and let the children drop in their
pennies for a month and donate the collection to support the Walk!
Collection pledges...ask your family, friends,
business associates, teacher, neighbor to sponsor you as you Walk for Warmth!
Boot Sales...Promote, sell and display Walk for
Warmth boots at your business, school or organization. We will provide as many
boots as you need...you sell and display the boots and the proceeds will go
directly back to support the Walk efforts.
Team Participation...consider getting a group
together from work, church, the neighborhood, your walking group, class,
schools, teams of all sorts are encouraged.
